The core Product is a COVID-19 virus detection breathalyser. The Product will take the form of a handheld electromechanical device fully integrated with a proprietary App, a Cloud-based software platform with an ejected consumable cartridge designed to be used once and then safely disposed of. The handheld device, app, cloud-based platform and consumable cartridge are defined as the Product and sold as a packaged solution to 3rd party distributors and end-customers.
The breathalyser is based on individual, non-invasive testing. Compared to other Point of Care Devices, this unit will provide a 120 second (95%) accurate result. The device will provide the instant result via a digital readout, which can then be transferred to the recipient’s mobile device as a record of result.
The Breathalyser has a disposable cartridge which is ejected for safe handling at the end of each test. The disposable cartridge is a consumable and presents an ongoing revenue stream for the business.
Examin has an exclusive licence to use patented testing pads for the detection of Covid-19 via airborne testing. The virus is a negative charged particle of a known size. It is attracted to human DNA (the aptamer), and the positive charge of the substrate.
The preliminary electromechanical device design and the core detection chemistry at the heart of the company’s solution will be prone to change as prototypes and next-stage MVPs are moved through clinical trials, and regulatory approval frameworks and requirements are applied.
